Being an arts and culture hub, Inglewood is a stage to host the InglewooDIY Festival as an experience full of creativity, filling nooks and crannies throughout alleyways, within historic buildings, crooked streets, industrial areas, and behind buildings. Artists, artisans, handcrafters, and makers will be scattered throughout the neighbourhood, hosting numerous demonstrations, workshops, and art installations over two weeks in May.

This family-friendly event is hosted and organized by the Inglewood Opportunity Hub - Woods Homes and will feature hands-on activities, live music, and a reception hall offering up art pieces you won’t want to miss! Featured art will include: oil and acrylic paintings, digital prints, drawings, sculptures, painted rocks, and artisanal stickers.

Behind the Scenes Tours
Creativity will be placed throughout nooks and crannies in Inglewood. From roving artists, including The Sprawl demonstrating traditional letterpress art, chalk demonstrations on sidewalks by local artists, to art installations by Big Art showcasing THE DOOR. There is creativity to experience for everyone!

Meet the Artist
SAM MENDOZA
An afternoon of art, conversation, and community during The Eden’s Happy Hour. Meet Sam in person, explore her signature digital and analog collage artworks, and check out her exclusive ‘Art-pparel’ collection—which is only available for pre-order at The Eden.
Flying solo? Grab a seat at the Community Table to connect with Sam and fellow creatives. A portion of all sales from Sam’s pop-up gallery at The Eden and ‘Meet the Artist; event will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary, a not-for-profit organization close to The Eden family’s heart.
This event is FREE and open to the public—no tickets required.

BARRY LORNE
An immersive art experience at High Line Brewing, featuring his captivating pop-up installation, Monkey See, Monkey Do.
With exhibitions across Canada, the U.S., and Australia—and an upcoming feature in a major pop surrealist showcase in New Zealand—Barry Lorne is a rising global force in contemporary art. Monkey See, Monkey Do will be on display until May 25, 2025, with all works available for purchase.

A community-led alleyway project is being re-created during the festival turning into a public realm space located at 1417 - 9th Ave SE

STREET ART
Street art mural.s and temporary art is being activated throughout the nooks and crannies of Inglewood.

Bear & UniCorn
David and Maya are the Bear & Unicorn duo transforming overlooked spaces into meaningful connections through art and design.
They will be on-site creating temporary art for two weeks during the festival to engage with community and create art in Inglewood. Please visit them and ask questions about their process.

The Foundation Collective presents a 'paint jam' showcasing gender diversity in street art - including six artists and a stencil workshop. They will be working individually to create a larger piece. Paint jams are a place to try out new things, and experiment with new ideas, techniques, and tools. Artists include: NASARIMBA, Kat Simmers, Mike Hooves, Josee Laguita, and Zzzzay.
